Mobile mechanic — based in Hurstville, servicing Sydney
We come to you
Servicing, brakes, batteries and diagnostics done in your driveway, any day of the week. No tow, no drop-off, and no taking a day off work to sit in a waiting room.
Services
Every job is quoted before it is booked in, so you know the price before any work starts. There is no callout fee on a booked job.
Scheduled servicing carried out to manufacturer specification using genuine or equivalent parts, with your logbook stamped so that new-car warranty entitlements are preserved.
Inspection and replacement of pads, rotors, brake fluid, shock absorbers and bushings. Components are measured against wear limits before quoting, so replacement is recommended only where it is warranted.
On-site testing of the battery, alternator and starter motor to identify the cause of a no-start fault. Common battery types are carried on the ute and can usually be replaced during the same visit.
Full electronic scan and road test to investigate warning lights, poor running or unfamiliar noises. Findings are explained in plain terms and quoted before any repair is undertaken.
An independent inspection conducted at the seller's location, covering mechanical condition, structural signs of prior damage and service history. A written report follows the same day.
Puncture repairs and pressure checks carried out on site, along with an honest assessment of tread depth and wear so you know whether a tyre has life left in it or needs replacing. Replacement tyres are not supplied — where new rubber is needed you will be told plainly, and you can take that to a tyre shop.
Attendance to vehicles immobilised at a home or workplace. Where a repair can reasonably be completed on site it will be, and where it cannot, you will be told so directly.
How it works
Step 01
Call or send the form with your make, model and rough kilometres. We quote before we book, so you know the price up front.
Step 02
Home, work, apartment car park — anywhere with room to open the doors. You do not need to be there the whole time.
Step 03
Cash or bank transfer on completion, with an itemised invoice and any replaced parts left with you if you want to see them.
Recent work
Why mobile
No drop-off, no waiting room, no organising a lift home. The car gets worked on where it already is.
You approve a price before a spanner comes out. Nothing gets added to the invoice that you did not agree to.
Nothing disappears behind a roller door. Ask what a part does and why it needs replacing, and you will get a straight answer.
Logbook servicing done to the manufacturer's schedule and stamped, so a new-car warranty is unaffected.
There is no rent on a building to pay for, and that shows up in the quote rather than in someone else's lease.
Booked work runs seven days — a weekday evening, a Sunday morning, whenever the car is actually sitting still. Stuck somewhere? Urgent callouts are around the clock.
About
Bonnet Buddy is a qualified mechanic working out of a fully equipped ute across southern Sydney. Same training and the same tools as a workshop, minus the workshop.
Going mobile was the point. Most people can't drop a car off at eight and pick it up at five without losing a day's pay, so the work happens at your place, at a time you pick, while you get on with something else.
You'll get told what's actually wrong, what it will cost before it starts, and what can wait. Old parts stay with you if you want to see them.
Where we go
We're based in Hurstville, so the St George area and the Sutherland Shire tend to get the quickest turnaround. That's where we're based — not where we stop.
The suburbs below are simply where most of our work is. If you're further out, that's no problem at all — tell us where you are and what the car needs, and we'll be there.

Questions
Wherever it already is, as long as there is room to get the doors and bonnet open and the ground is reasonably flat. A driveway is ideal. A garage, a verge or an unhurried corner of a car park all work too. If you are in an apartment block, check whether visitor parking is an option and mention it when you book.
Yes. Meet us at the start so we can talk through the job and get the keys, then get on with your day. We will call if anything unexpected turns up, and we will go through the finished work with you before we pack up.
You hear about it before anything happens. We will explain what we have found, what it will cost, and what could reasonably wait until next time. Nothing gets done, and nothing gets charged, without you agreeing to it first.
No. Australian Consumer Law protects your right to use any qualified mechanic you choose. As long as the service follows your logbook schedule and uses the parts and fluids the manufacturer specifies, your warranty carries on exactly as before, and your logbook gets stamped.
A few. Anything needing a hoist, a wheel alignment or heavy pressing gear belongs in a workshop, and we do not supply or fit replacement tyres. Where a job falls outside what can be done in a driveway, we will say so early and point you toward someone set up for it, rather than making a mess of it on your nature strip.
Booked jobs run seven days a week, early mornings through to evenings, weekends included. Popular slots go quickly, so a few days notice gives you a better pick of times. If the car has broken down and it cannot wait, urgent callouts are available around the clock — ring rather than using the form.
